I would be hardpressed to see how freecreditreport.com could not be free…

Answer by jgufo
Yeah I know. I want to know my credit score too, but all those sites make you sign up and pay for stuff.

Answer by Realsprite
Yes, you are entitled to a credit check once a year by a major credit bureau. This is what you are looking for:

https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp

It is definitely worth checking your FICO score through the 30day free trial provided by www.freecreditreport.com. When I checked my credit, I almost fainted because My FICO score was MUCH lower than what I thought it should have been. This was due to mistake on their part and they had merged my account with someone with terrible Credit history because our name was identical. Through dispute, I was able to raise my FICO score from 593 to 745 in 5 months.

Answer by republicansarecruel
Yes and no. You are entitled to a free CREDIT REPORT from each of the major agencies each year. You are not entitled to a free CREDIT SCORE unless you live in the following states: Colorado, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Vermont.

Your credit score and your credit report are two different things.

I’m going to find the correct site for you and I’ll post it.

Real Sprite – you suck!! You stole my frickin answer and changed your incorrect one!! Cheater!!!

Answer by Barbzzz37
Try going directly to the websites for the credit reporting companies, like transunion. If you live in certain states, it is required by law to provide you with a free credit report. I lived in Maryland for many years and always got mine free.

Yes. Experian and other credit reporting agencies must supply you once a year with a report, free. Just search for credit reporting agencies, free report, and you’ll get the website or address. NEVER pay anyone for your credit report, not only is it a rip off, but they get your name, address, social security number, and so on for free (and for possible misuse).

Answer by advancedmaster
Some states allow you ONE free credit report (not your credit score) each year to keep track of what’s on your record. If you are denied credit by anyone, you have a right to see the credit report that they used to deny you so you can see whats on there and make any appropriate adjustments needed. The “free credit score” is a bait that makes you join their programs – the report will be free, but you’ll need to quit the program before they start charging you. Check with the credit score companies experian.com transunion.com, etc. Also you can check with the fedral trade commission ftc.gov

Answer by ZGML
No,you can view your credit REPORT for free once a year, but!!!,your credit SCORE its not free to view, the reason been that your credit score is a reflection of your credit REPORT,so for security purposes you need to review your credit REPORT and not your credit SCORE

Answer by [email protected]
I would not worry about it. All a credit score does is say how in debt you are. People with good credit scores are just as bad off as people with bad scores. My goal is to have no record on file, this will mean that I wont owe anyone.
