Johnny: When you buy an iphone,does it still work without buying the internet service?
My Dad is thinking about buying an iphone,but he doesnt want to buy the internet serive.Is it still goin to work for making calls and texting even if you dont buy it?

You have to buy the internet service no matter what.

It will work without the internet service but if you buy an iPhone directly through Apple or AT&T you are required to sign a 2-year contract. This contract includes internet. The charge per month for unlimited internet on the iPhone 3G is $ 30 per month. Hope this helps!

Yes, the iphone will work even without the internet service, but if you buy it from apple or att, they will FORCE you to buy the internet or else they won’t let you buy the iphone. Also, without the internet plan, a lot of features on the iphone will be disabled most of the time until you get into a wifi zone.

Yes AT&T is very selfish and will force you to pay them $ 30 a month for internet on an iPhone 3G even if 3G data isn’t available in your area. If you unlock the phone and use it with another carrier this will not be required. If you are in the UK and use the O2 network they will still make you have a data service although I’m not sure of the price.

Yes it will work without the internet. The Text messaging will still work and the the Wifi of course liek at home or a starbucks. But if you buy it through AT&T or through Apple, you have to get it. its 30 bucks a month extra. But if yu ever cancel the service through ATT you still have the ipod touch on it. Its an awesome phone. I really like mine
