I know it’s sometime in April, but exactly when? And how long does it last?

My dad and I made a bet, that if I can buy my own plane ticket, he’ll go to DR with me for the very first time. It’s been my ULTIMATE wish to go with him. So i’m planning to save from here on till April. And I chose Semana Santa because I’ve never been during that time, and I heard it’s SUPER SUPER fun.

they do differen things in different coutries. Im not sure what they do in th DM. Semana=week so it lasts a week.. Its the last week jesus was alive. And i think its the week before easter

Semana Santa also known The Holy Week according to the Catholic Calendar starts April 17 and ends April 23, 2011. Easter falls on April 24, 2011.

There is a great lot of Catholics in the Dominican Republic so they do observe the Lent.

Semana Santa is Easter week in the Dominican Republic and in the rest of the Christian world.

In 2011 it will be from monday the 18th to sunday the 24 th of april, 2011.
