~StPatricksDayMommy3.17.10~: When did you start putting hard sole shoes on your baby?
My daughter is starting to walk, and I will sometimes when we go places put soft sole shoes on her. Well my MIL keeps telling me that I need to put hard sole shoes on her that those shoes will help her walk. But everything I have read is to let baby learn to walk in bare feet; and to use soft sole shoes on baby.

My son just started walking a few weeks ago. My mother says the same. I personally let him walk arouth the house bare footed. But when we go out we use hard sole shoes and when we get back I leave him in them to keep Him from walking on his tip toes. I would think it would hurt to have her in hard sole shoes some times sometimes soft. Depends on the environment.
I put hard sole shoes on my kids when we were home to let them get the feel of them but yes letting the walk bare feet is also good but having hard sole shoes on them also conqures balance and stability and help to support there arches and ankles try putting hard sole shoes on ur baby when ur home so that ur lil one gets the feel of them that way u can have an easy transition. My oldest 1 was 13 months old my second 1 was 16 months my 3 year one was 10 months and my son was 16 monthsAnswer by aileen
my sons have yet to walk but they are well on there way and iv read up alot about it and they do say that it is best for them to be barefoot, to put on shoes only when going outside and that is for safety reasons.Answer by Danielle ♦ C & A’s Mommy
Once they are walking well you can out hard sole shoes on them. My some is nearly 13 months old and has been walking for 3 months. He wears a little pair os hard sole work boots whenever we go outside. At our house, just socks.Answer by suszcza
I’ve always had my boys go barefoot. They only wear shoes outside on really cold days.
