Brent Sander: Whats the fastest way to make my ankle stronger for the upcoming rugby season?
I tore a ligament in my ankle about 3 months ago and ive already missed my whole football season. Rugby season started 2 weeks ago and i need to be back as soon as possible. Any tips to help my ankle stronger?

It depends on what level of strength you have in your ankle. If you are coming back from injury, don’t rush it.
But running on sand and/or soft surfaces is an effective way of strengthening ankles.

jog on dry sand and walk up sand dunes failing that, walk in the swimming pool. It’s also the best way of building explosive leg strength.
Answer by suzhou sidI had a chronic ankle problem for a long time…apart from running on sand as has already been mentioned get some help from an acupuncturist…it was the only thing that finally fixed the problem. Once you have damaged your ankle you will always be prone to damaging it again…I dont know how acupuncture works, but it was as I mentioned the only thing that fixed my ankle…try itAnswer by jerrytaze
If your ankle have enough strength try using ankle weights. This gives you enough resistance to make your ankle stronger and makes you faster. Its like hitting two birds with a stone. But the ankle weights might make the ligament tore again, not 100% shore though.
If you don’t like my first idea or find it risky try jogging for 30 mins. a day this builds your leg muscle and increase your endurance
