Ash: How can my little sister start playing tennis?
Hi, my little sister is 11 years old, and she would LOVE to play tennis. She has tried before, and there is a summer camp she’s attending. Are there any tips you can provide? And how to find a youth tennis team or league in her area?
Thanks a bunch!

The only way to learn is practice. Whenever she has a chance, get her to hit a tennis ball off the wall. the second best way to learn is by playing people who are better then you. To find clubs, just go to a tennis store nearby and ask if there are any teams for kids that age. the only way to find out is by asking around. Get her to start watching tennis and read up on proper form if she wants to become good. Hope she has fun!
Well all i can say is she can try her best and she should practice allot. like she can practice after her homework she can practice serving. And then she can take a break and then after that she can practice hitting. HOPE THAT HELPS!!!!! =)Answer by Josh knows
The top priority: TO HAVE FUN!
seriously, playing tennis should be enjoyable exercise to do your body good – and unless she wants to compete, she should just relax.
To play the game, make sure that she should have a good tennis racquet and just swing at balls.
Just let her hit the ball whever she wants, gradually tell her where and how to hit it properly.
of course if its more advanced I could also give advice but, I believe that starters should just enjoy the game.
Frog’s club and YMCA i believe have ‘teams’ or lessons.
Hope this helps =)Answer by marcus brigstock
Picking up a tennis racquet would be a good start.Answer by Fuentes J
Well if she loves it then thats the first step. I find that summer camps are not very helpul for learning how to play. I have been playing for 7 years and I learned through a private coach. If one isn’t available then I reccomend group lessons. The only problem with a summer camp is that they tend to concentrate on the more advanced kids. If you go your city’s website there is sure to be information on tennis lessons. If she can find other people to hit with, that would be perfect as well. The key thing is to practice, practice and practice.Answer by simko_n
Get a personal coach, and have private lessons daily. If you have country clubs or swim and tennis clubs in the area they have summer leagues. Indoor racquet clubs/tennis centers also usually have winter leagues.
Tip-practice as much as possible and never give up lol
