Its hard to say before the season starts, but the coach will most likely put you in the position where you have the most natural ability. (i.e. forward if you have an instinct in front of goal). Sprints help build up your speed over the summer and long runs build your endurance. Running and bike riding are your two best bets to be in good shape.Answer by Rachel
You could try running some in case the coach puts you on mid.Answer by Michelle O
Hello, Soccer is a great game and im glad your getting in to it. Your coach will problably try you out in different positions to see which on you are best at and like best. Sadley, some coaches might just put you in a position that the team needs help in. For more help go to www.jakeo-soccer.wetpaint.com and go to the page What to practice for Soccer. Oh and leave a comment for me by getting a Wetpaint account [ its free] and posting one. I would love to get your imput!Answer by nokel10
The position depends on what you want to do. If you want to do defense, the coach will most likely put you on defense. Also, if you kick the ball hard, you will most likely be put on offense, so that you can score goals. To get in shape over the summer, you should do drills, like running up and down the field to build leg muscles. Another drill would be to set up cones all in a row, with 5 or 6 foot spaces in between each cone. You will then dribble the ball through the spaces between the cones, to work on ball handling abilities. With these drills, you may possibly become the best player on your team! Just remember, practice makes perfect!Answer by skybreeze128
pass the ball to a friend for 15 min. a day, if you want to be a golie start practising cathing the ball and the coach will prob put you in defence for a first timer
