DnoMiCS: What’s the difference between financial economics and monetary economics?
They seem to be almost the same, although not exactly. And in universities, a detailed subject on financial economics is usually different from a subject on monetary economics. Also, which is a better elective if I choose only one of these?

Those are very broad terms, but financial economics would deal with how activities are financed and the relationships of equity and debt pricing. Monetary economics deals with the aggregates of the money supply, velocity, reserve requirements, etc.
