Brandon: What’s the best way to check your credit score for free?
I’m looking for a free way to check the actual number. I know I can get a free credit report – but that does not include the “score.” Any ideas? Ideally, I’d like to do this without effecting the score itself too.

You will always have to pay for your credit score. Any firm offering a “free” credit score will want your credit card numbers for their monthly credit monitoring service.
You can buy your FICO credit score for a one-time, non-reoccurring fee of $ 15.95 at:
https://www.myfico.com
https://www.equifax.com/home/en_us
There is a free credit score estimation service at – https://www.creditkarma.com/ – but this is only an estimation and not the real FICO score.
Answer by RosieYou wont be able to check your credit score for free. You can get your credit report for free from annualcreditreport.com. You can get one every 4 months because you can get it from each of the 3 agencies. It is only $ 5 to get your score from this website, which is not a commercial site.

“I’m looking for a free way to check the actual number” Nobody gives a fee score unless part of a trial offer. Even then they make it very difficult to cancel the subscription
“I’d like to do this without effecting the score itself too” Pulling your credit doesn’t hurt your score. Only hard inquiries (applying for credit) will be factored into your score.
Google “FICO promo code” to find a discount code and go to myfico.com and get your score. There are several scoring models but most lenders use FICO. Might as well go right to the source and get it.
Answer by Quizzle.comHi Brandon! Don’t listen to anyone who says you can’t get your credit score for free. You absolutely can! Sure, there are a lot of sites out there that promise a “free” score, but require that you sign up for a trial service to get it. There are also sites like Quizzle.com that offer a free score, no catches, no trial subscriptions, no credit card required. A good way to differentiate one from the other is by applying the credit card test: If a company promises you something for free, but requires your credit card to give it to you, it’s probably not free.
Typically, when you pull your credit report yourself, it’s considered a “soft inquiry” and will not impact your score – so no worries there! Good luck – and feel free to contact me through my profile here if you have any questions.
P.S. The credit score offered at Quizzle is a CE score based on your Experian credit report. This score is not an estimate; it’s a legitimate credit score that provides a numerical representation of how creditworthy you are.
Answer by My Take on ItYou cannot check your actual FICO score for free anywhere. You have to pay for the actual score that lenders use to determine whether they will approve you. It costs under $ 20.
There are some score guesstimators out there, but they are NOT your actual score.
