KLynn: Whats the best photography magazine to subscribe to?
I want to subscribe t a photography magazine. I want one that actually teaches you and give you tips, not just oe that shows off other peoples photos…what do you suggest? THanks!
I enjoy reading about how well cameras perform, and photoshop tutorials as well…the only thing I don’t like is when the magazine is full of old photos from this or that photographer with a little story about them. I want something that I can read and learn new things from.

I could tell you the two I read routinely, but that will not necessarily be the best for you.
Go into a bookstore and look at all the photo magazines they sell and pick two. Do this for a few months until you get a good feeling of what they contain and which teaches you the most and then subscribe to them.
I read the “Rangefinder Magazine” and “After Capture”
Answer by PookyI like Popular Photography but they’re more into testing of hardware (cameras and lenses) and lately have gotten into “how to” for Photoshop.Answer by flash19901
Practical Photography from the UK is a great one to check out. Steeped in digital.Answer by David
It can be hard top find newsagents with a decent selection of magazines to choose from and there is no certainty that just because one edition was useful, others will also be what you want.
Having subscribed to many different titles over the years, I have rarely renewed my subscription when came due – I prefer to buy just the magazines that have content I want, although I do get Rangefinder and Professional Imagemaker included in my membership of pro photography associations.
There are quite a few free online photo magazines that concentrate on tips, tricks and How-to=photograph specific subjects. Two i can suggest are the one from the New York Institute of Photography (https://www.nyip.com/photo-ezine/ezine.html) and Digital Photography School https://digital-photography-school.com/tips.
Answer by TobascoI’m a big fan of Outdoor Photographer. Although I canceled my subscription shortly after starting my job at the camera store where I now work… the store gets them before I do anyway and I have enough downtime to read them.Answer by Tony
Practical Photography and Digital Camera are great mags, from the UK though.
Regards.
