WHen you’re effing, you’re not putting any emotion into it or caring if your partner is being pleased; you’re effing away for the sake of your own pleasure. Making love is the exact opposite.

“Effing” is about pure lust. Making love is more about love and passion, and wanting to share that with someone you love. eg. You would ake love to your wife, but “eff” a hooker.
