Asher: What would be a good book for a 8th grade historical fiction book report?
I am doing an 8th grade historical fiction book report with the following guidelines:
-Must be European historical fiction (setting)
-Set or written before 1900
Please give me book suggestions! I would like a book between 200 and 600 pages. I have some trouble with prose written in shakespearean (for lack of a better word) English, so please none like that.
Thank you so much!

I always liked The Perilous Gard by Elizabeth Marie Pope. It’s an easy and short read, involves fairies, and is set in Tudor England. While it’s not as historical as you’d probably want, I’m sure you could do something with it.
