The only person who would know the answer to that is the coach of the team. Try contacting him or her. You could also talk to some people who are currently on the team and ask them what sort of requirements there are. I know some high schools that require a great deal of skills to be on the team, and I know some high schools that will take anyone who shows up.

i guess it depends how high the standard of the gym team is! but you would need to be supple and strong, show lots of enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. If the team is at a competitive standard probably able to sit in splits and hold a hand stand, able to round off, flick and walkover – . Maybe even somersault.Go for it and good luck!
It really depends on how high school gymnastics goes at your school. I know that some old tryouts, and some don’t. My team dosen’t and there are many girls on my team that came in with no experince but have learned so much from it. If your school does hold tryouts then just work on your flexibility and strength. You could also work on some basics like handstands and cartwheels, don’t work on anything too advanced if you don’t have the right environment for it. Good luck!
