KwK: What movies from the past 10yrs show how people can regress back into savages in dire situations?
I’m thinking of movies along the lines of “The Mist” in how the people trapped in the grocery store turn against each other and certain people try to take charge. What other recent movies show that, in drastic circumstances, humans can regress from civility and turn into savages in order to survive. The book “Lord of the Flies” is a good example, but can anyone think of any recent movies? I feel like there is a big one that I just can’t remember.

Three different adaptations of H.G. Welles ‘Island of Doctor Moreau’ and two ‘Lord of the Flies’ movies.
Blindness (2008)
IMDb synopsis:
A city is ravaged by an epidemic of instant “white blindness”. Those first afflicted are quarantined by the authorities in an abandoned mental hospital where the newly created “society of the blind” quickly breaks down. Criminals and the physically powerful prey upon the weak, hording the meager food rations and committing horrific acts. There is however one eyewitness to the nightmare. A woman whose sight is unaffected by the plague follows her afflicted husband to quarantine. There, keeping her sight a secret, she guides seven strangers who have become, in essence, a family. She leads them out of quarantine and onto the ravaged streets of the city, which has seen all vestiges of civilization crumble.
Here are some others:
The Steam Experiment (2009)
aka The Chaos Experiment

Right at Your Door (2006)

The Trigger Effect (1996)

There is a brilliant Anthony Hopkins movie called “Instinct” where he lives and studies Gorillas in the jungle and he has assimilated into their society. He is accused of murdering someone and is committed to an institution.
