Mystery Lady H: What makes the bible different than scripture from other religions?
Isn’t it hypocritical to assume that your religion is correct just because your religion’s texts say it is? People who follow Christianity claim the bible is true because it SAYS IT IS. Just like any other religion’s “holy book” will do the same. Of course they’re going to say they’re true and everyone else is wrong! Why can’t anyone offer rationale from a perspective that is not directly influenced by their own religion?
As an outsider to religions, none of them look any different than the next. Comforting explanations with set regulations to keep people believing them and passing it on to the next generation.

Christianity professes a sacrificing and Risen head of the religion. Buddha is dead, Muhammad is dead, but Jesus Christ (who is God by the way) is alive!
It is not a religion of just rules, but of righteousness! All are forgiven of sin, you and yes even me. All we have to do is accept the free gift of grace that God has already given us through the sacrifice of Jesus!
I could give you many reasons why I believe the Bible is unique and you can have confidence in it as God’s written Word—but the main reason is this: It alone tells us about Jesus Christ.
You see, the Bible is unique because Jesus Christ was unique. The Bible tells us that He wasn’t just another religious teacher or philosopher, nor was He simply a man who went about doing good. Instead, He was far greater than this: He was God in human flesh. He wasn’t just a godly man; He was God Himself, who came down from heaven and took upon Himself our human flesh. The Bible puts it this way: “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form” (Colossians 2:9).
Why did God do this? Why did He stoop down and become a human being like us (but without sin)? For one reason: to take upon Himself the judgment you and I deserve for our sins. We deserve to die and go to hell for our sins—but Christ died in our place, and then rose again from the dead. Now we can be forgiven and saved by putting our faith and trust in Him.
I invite you to discover the Bible for yourself—and through its pages, to discover Jesus Christ. God loves you, and the proof is Christ. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you through the Bible—and then by faith ask Him to come into your life.

Hello Lady!
There are Many Fase Sects of Christianity. All ‘religion’ will send mankind to Hell!
But IF you are “Really” looking for the One True GOD, see what He says in His Word?
(Jeremiah 29:11-12-13) For I know the purposes which I am purposing for you, says Jehovah; purposes of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
(Jer 29:12) Then you shall call on Me, and you shall go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
(Jer 29:13) And you shall seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
Perhaps IF you will be Honest with The GOD of the Bible and just talk to HIM about this?
Open to the Gospel of John and start reading!
IF you are really searching for GOD, the God of the Bible… THEN… you will find Him!
Thanks, RR
Answer by the chosen oneThe amount of advanced science it contains in its’ scripture that wasn’t part of human knowledge at the time it was written.Answer by lazymeg1989
claiming that your scripture is true merely because it says so is illogical.
the real question in determining whether a scripture is true depends then on how much sense it makes, whether there have been any recorded instances of humans messing with it, etc.
personally, i believe in the Qur’an because muslim and non-muslim scholars alike, with the help of a little carbon dating, have agreed on how the original text has not changed for 1400 years. a book that’s published ten years ago is going to have another version with an added foreword now, but one book survived for 1400 years without any humans messing with it claiming to be divinely inspired.
the Qur’an, in it’s original Arabic form, has been shown to have “beauty, spiritual, enery and compelling power”- (Karen Armstrong). additionally, it talks about various proven phenomenon which no one could possibly have known 1400 years ago. peace.
Answer by BibleChooser1) What makes the bible different than scripture from other religions?
Well – it’s a different book. What makes “The Catcher in the Rye” different from all other fictional works?
2) Isn’t it hypocritical to assume that your religion is correct just because your religion’s texts say it is?
No. This is not what “hypocritical” means.
3) People who follow Christianity claim the bible is true because it SAYS IT IS.
Well, there may be a **very few** Christians who say such a thing. The fact is, however, that the bible does NOT say any such thing. The bible, in fact, is an **anthology** of Scriptures written from (roughly) 300 to 1500 years prior to the first bible. The bible did not exist when any of the authors of the books included in the bible were written.
4) Just like any other religion’s “holy book” will do the same.
Apparently, we have discovered the difference between the bible and the holy books of other religions.
5) Why can’t anyone offer rationale from a perspective that is not directly influenced by their own religion?
(Grin) Well, clearly we cannot expect that from you….
6) As an outsider to religions, none of them look any different than the next.
Really? So, for example, you confuse Buddhism with religions that require human sacrifice?
7) Comforting explanations with set regulations to keep people believing them and passing it on to the next generation.
Ahh, yes. How comforting human sacrifice must be. Especially knowing that, if you don’t manage to take enough prisoners, some of your neighbors – or maybe even you – will be the sacrifice. Very comforting.

Answer by KrysThere is no difference. Most (though not all) texts claim exactly the same thing. Abrahamic faiths posses a lot of circular logic. It just goes with the territory.
My take on it, from a religious perspective is that all Gods exist, and that none are exclusive, and that all texts are human interpretations. I worship and serve my Gods, but don’t deny the reality of others. They are just the Gods of others, that’s all, and I have no concerns about them, either to attack them or embrace them.
As such, there is no right or wrong religion. If one is for you go with it. If it isn’t, don’t. If none of them do, that’s fine too.
Do I feel you should serve the Gods I serve? Not really. Just because it’s how I lead my life, doesn’t mean it is how you should lead yours. We are different people and as such have different places in life, and your place may not be kissing the ground before Ra, no more than mine is reciting the Qu’ran.

Q – Isn’t it hypocritical to assume that your religion is correct just because your religion’s texts say it is?
A – Not hypocritcal, but definitely Naive!
“People who follow Christianity claim the bible is true because it SAYS IT IS”
they actually follow it because it’s convient. Christians think that without some sort of guidance by the divine, that their existance is worthless, basically stating we’re all incompetent losers w/o God. it’s basically misanthropy.. christians recreate this incompitance everytime they indocrinate they’re own children into they’re worthless religion.
“Of course they’re going to say they’re true and everyone else is wrong!”
a quote: “No man ever believes that the Bible means what it says; he is always convinced that it says what he means.”
– George Bernard Shaw
“Why can’t anyone offer rationale from a perspective that is not directly influenced by their own religion?”
because that would be blasphemy, wouldn’t it? And more importantly, admitting that they’re wrong..
“Comforting explanations with set regulations to keep people believing them and passing it on to the next generation.”
Christians love it when “everything is in place”. they need closure for everything, there is no such thing as an “open end”. It pretty much leaves no room for growth or enlightenment…..
