What kind of dancing do they do on dancing with the stars?

Hayley Langley: What kind of dancing do they do on dancing with the stars?
Well, I really want to get into dance…
And the kind of dancing they do on dancing with the stars seems fun, i would like to dance with a partner.

So what kind of dance is that?
I have been told its ballroom. But it has a unique modern flare to it..?

Anyone know?

They do various waltzes and the Tango a lot. I’ve seen them do modern jazz,the Fox Trot, the Cha Cha, the Samba,to break dancing and the Charleston.

all dances are various styles of ballroom dancing
salsa, tango, rumba, waltz, Foxtrot, etc.

It is a huge variety of ballroom. The modern flare comes from the choreographer themselves and varies with every dancer you will ever meet.

They do ballroom and latin dancing. Ballroom, also known as Standard, is waltz, foxtrot, quickstep, tango, viennese waltz.

Latin is cha cha, rumba, samba, jive, and paso doble.

These dances are all danced in International styles. On the show, they sometimes do American dances, such as mambo, salsa, swing, and hustle.

They have two seperate sections: Ballroom, and Latin American. Choreographers put their own style to it, but the basic steps and movements are derived from Ballroom and Latin.
