ShortStuff: What is the lightest horse breed that displays feathering?
I am doing a sketching study of horse breeds, and I would like to do a horse with feathering. I have already done a clydesdale and a gypsy, and I was wondering if there were any smaller, lighter boned horses that display feathering. Ideas would be great!

Technically, all horses have feathers if you don’t trim them. But the Dales pony or the Frisian are the only ones I can really think of.
The lightest horse I know of that has feathering is the FrisianAnswer by <3 HORSE_CRAZY_ALASKAN! <3
Probably a Freisian. They can be either big and bulky like a war horse, or they can be small and dainty. sometimes they’re small and bulky, and they look kinda funny!!
Good luck with your sketches! (I love drawing horses!)

My Chincoteague Pony has feathers, but proportionally for drawing purposes, I doubt he’d look any lighter than a gypsy.Answer by foxhunter1949
