What is the fastest desktop and laptop on the market today?

cjm85: What is the fastest desktop and laptop on the market today?
Let’s assume that money is no object and you could order the highest specs on every computer. What would be the fastest desktop and laptop for sale on the marker today for consumers? Who would make those computers? Or is it something you have to build on your own?

The fastest non server/supercomputer desktop would be custom built rig with 4-way SLI 2GB 384-bit GDDR5 GPUs, 2 hexacore CPUs (Skulltrail supports 2, although I’m unsure if it allows for 6-core processors), 4 solid state drives in RAID 1 + 0 configuration, 24GB of DDR3 2400 RAM (this is the most I’ve seen a mobo support), a mobo with 6gb SATA and USB 3.0 capabilities, and of course a watercooling setup to overclock the RAM, video card, and CPU. I can’t really comment on laptops as I don’t know them too well but unfortunately Alienware, overpriced as they are, would probably be the best.
