What is the difference in an international edition of a book and a US edition?

Kathryn: What is the difference in an international edition of a book and a US edition?
I am working on my masters degree in guidance and counseling. International versions of books are a lot less expensive than the US editions. Trying to save money! Will the international version work just as well as the other edition? Can you tell me what the difference is?

The standards in the US are different to other countries.
I’m afraid to say that the US standards are invariably lower.
