Alex: How does an International student become a permanent resident?
I am a canadian international student in California. I would like to remain in the country and become a permanent resident. What do I do?

The U.S. got similar rule to Canada. International students must leave the country once their studies are over. (your days in the U.S. as a student won’t help you become a permanent resident)

Ways to Get a Green Card …
1.) marrying a U.S. citizen
2.) find a U.S. company to sponsor for green card

you dont – you cannot adjust your status from inside USA.

you go home after you graduate, work a few years to get experience and then apply to immigrate back to USA.
