An acoustic electric guitar has a resonator (it is hollow, with a hole in it), but has some sort of electrical pickup or mic and an audio jack.
An electric guitar has no resonator, but only electrical pick ups.
ok lisen, the electric gatar has a bit more 2 it. the electric can plug into a amp which makes beter sound.(personaly i think the acostic gatar is for old men). i own a electric gatar (but the second day i had it i broke the string getting it tuned up lol) but anyway the amp is better in so many was i mean i love rock and roll. if u like contry pick acostic. if u loke rock and pop choose electric. hope this helps alot! =)Answer by Holly C
i have an acoustic, an electric, and an acoustic/electric. my acoustic/electric ibanez is my favorite because you can still play it as an acoustic guitar (it is hollowed in the middle) but you can hook it up to an amp and it has an electric pick up so you can play it as an electric guitar as well. i personally think it takes more talent to play an acoustic guitar, but that is just my opinion. getting the best of both worlds is definitely a good way to learn about both if you are really serious about playing.Answer by alex_yeung330
u should start with acoustic, then move to electric, if not then just start electric 😛
difrences,
acoustic doesnt need an amplifier
electric does
acoustic has less frets, and they are bigger
electric more frets, smaller, more confortable
acoustic, = acoustic sound
electric = any sound u wan t
