What is the “Correct” way to “dress” a baked potatoe?
I always do sour cream, a little shredded cheese (to melt) then bacon bits, then chives, then shredded cheese to top it off.

Chili and cheese. Sometimes broccoli and sour cream.

Answer by smellyfoot â„¢I made twice baked potatoes yesterday. I scooped out the inside and mixed it with butter, cream cheese, sour cream, bacon, and green onions. I whipped it all up like mashed potatoes, then stuffed it back into the shell. Then you top with cheddar cheese and bake again. YUM!Answer by Kathleen
All I need is unsalted butter or margarine normally. Occasionally a small bit of sour cream. I like to taste the potato, not loads of toppings.Answer by JennyP
I’m actually voting for the French Maid response! What a hoot! On my baked potatos I actually like a squeeze of lemon juice, a generous sprinkling of kosher salt, fresh ground pepper, and butter. At times I enjoy all the traditional stuff, such as sour cream, chives, butter, bacon bits etc.Answer by Miss Julie
Potatoes are a blank canvas, you can add anything you like, really. I know some people that put chili on them, like you would on french fries. But, I’m a simple girl, I just like butter, salt, and pepper.Answer by Tom ツ

I like sour cream with salsa, butter, grated cheese and cooked hamburger.Answer by Spun sugar
First you need to cut it properly to hold the toppings. Make one length-wise cut, and then make 2 or 3 width-wise cuts. Then you have to kinda squish the potato (one pointer finger and thumb on each side) so that the filling comes up out of the jacket. Now it can be correctly dressed.
1st butter, real butter not marjorine.
2nd salt and pepper
3rd grated cheddar, just a bit
4th bacon bits, made from real bacon strips not fake-o-baco from the spice aisle
5th a big dollop of sour cream. The 14% fat kind, not the low fat runny stuff (no point saving calories now)
6th a sprinkling of fresh chopped chives
All in that order, or it’s just not the same.
