orchard_littlejoe: What is the best method of getting rid of fish smell in a motel room?
Many contractors are staying here at the motel and of course many of them insist on going fishing on their days off. But they like to cook their fish right outside of their room and of course it stinks up the room. any suggestions?

clean it with anything that has a lemon scent to it.
bread and vinegar. When we have friends over that smoke we put out some fresh white bread and a couple of bowls of white vinegar. Also, baking soda in the carpets helps.Answer by Ms.Kim

Personally, I would go to the manager, (before you even sit on the bed in the room) .. and tell them that you will not accept a room that smells like fish. They have a Master Key, so they can let you in any of the rooms to check out for yourself before you set-up in that room. Assuming the motel/hotel has a 2nd floor, or higher, the fish smell probably won’t make it to the higher rooms. The only thing after that advice is to have the maid come in and spray something in the room to hide the odor. Or, if you go to the same motel/hotel each year with this problem, try a different one. Good Luck ! 🙂Answer by Snogood

That is a tough one. Yuck! I travel with one of the little scented candles in a tin. Get a good one from a speciatly shop or someplace like Bath & Body Works. The cheap ones won’t do the trick.
