AmandaL: What is the best makeup remover for the eyes?
I have started using a primer for my eyes before I put on my makeup. It keeps the makeup from creasing. It also makes it harder for me to wash off.It seems like I have to wash my eyes 2-3 times.I would use the makeup remover first and then wash with soap.I would like to know the best one.Hopefully not an expensive one. Thanks everyone for your help.

Thanks to their exceptional performance, Almay’s makeup remover pads rated the best at removing eye makeup quickly and completely. Because this product garnered such high marks for removing waterproof mascara in our lab, it’s the ideal makeup remover for consumers who wear heavy eye makeup. However, these pads are very oily; women with dry skin might appreciate this formula’s hydrating capabilities, but these wipes may not be the right choice for women who don’t like that slick feeling (washing your face afterward may help). Even though women used an average of four pads (two per eye), they’re a good value at about 15 cents per eye. (drugstores nationwide)
Andrea Eye Q’s Eye Makeup Remover Pads ($ 4)
At a price of only 10 cents per eye, Andrea Eye Q’s Eye Makeup Remover Pads are the most cost-effective product we tested. These makeup remover pads earned excellent scores for effectively removing waterproof eye makeup, and our testers also deemed this pad the most hydrating of the bunch — ideal for those with dry skin. Be prepared, though, to wash off excess oil. “I felt greasy after using it,” one tester said. (drugstores nationwide)
Clean & Clear Makeup Dissolving Facial Cleansing Wipes ($ 6)
These wipes received high scores in our lab for removing waterproof mascara speedily and easily, winning the top spot for ease of use from our testers. Clean & Clear’s facial cleansing also have a lovely scent. Said one tester, “The smell was great and my eye area felt very clean afterward — not greasy or anything.” (drugstores nationwide)
The package for Neutrogena’s Night Calming scented wipes claims they “release a relaxing aroma.” Our testers agreed, granting this product a good score for its scent, as well as its easy use. Testers gave it good scores for removing their makeup at home (though in our labs it wasn’t as effective at taking off waterproof mascara). (drugstores nationwide)
Neutrogena Ultra-Soft Eye Makeup Remover Pads ($ 7)
Those who are prone to makeup blunders will appreciate this product, as one tester was happy to report that she could reapply her eye makeup immediately after using it without having to wash off any oily residue first. Our testers also granted this product a great score for both its ease of use and nonirritating formula, and it garnered respectable results for removing makeup quickly. (drugstores nationwide)
Ole Henriksen Purifying Eye Makeup Remover ($ 25)
Ole Henriksen’s makeup remover took off eye makeup very quickly in our lab tests. Our testers liked the clean feeling that it left behind, but they did experience some irritation if the liquid in the pad seeped into the eye. Also, one commented her skin feel dry after use, so it may be better for those with less sensitive skin. (olehenriksen.com)
Pond’s Clean Sweep Wet Cleansing Towelettes ($ 5.00)
Those in search of a light, refreshing formula will approve of this option: Our panelists liked how Pond’s towelettes made their skin feel residue-free. One tester noted that these wipes took off all of her makeup and were very easy to use. This product also received decent scores for its easy application and pleasant scent. (drugstores nationwide)
I USE BABY WIPES-ITS CHEAP-AND DOESNT BREAK YOUR SKIN OUT ,Answer by ♥ sohysterical ♥
Neutrogena! I forget what it’s called, but it’s in a blue bottle with a goldish cap, and it’s like $ 8. It’s a dual-phase one, you need to shake it before you use it, but it’s exactly like Lancome’s Bi-Facil eye makeup remover which costs like.. way more.
I always used to put Vaseline on my waterproof mascara, hop in the shower, and wipe it off when I was done. It completely dissolves it but the problem with using anything oily (olive oil, vaseline, etc) to remove eye makeup is that you can get those little white bumps around your eyes, and also things called styes which are basically little pimples on the inner rim of your eyelid. The oil clogs the pores around your eyes, because the skin is so delicate.
Also, if you’re using a good makeup remover, you usually don’t need to wash with soap after, just a rinse with water will be enough. You need to start being as gentle with your eyes as possible when you’re young, so you won’t get wrinkles when you’re older.
Good luck!
I find that the bi-phase, oil/water type of eye makeup removers that you mix up before using are the best eye makeup removers. My favorite is Take the Day Off for Lids, Lashes, and Lips from Clinique. It’s $ 17.50, but it lasts quite a while. It’s gentle and effective. Neutrogena makes a very similar product, but I’ve never tried it (it’s under $ 5 at Target). Don’t use baby oil or vaseline because they’re really not good for your skin (mineral oil and petroleum on your eye area? Ew).Answer by Beautante Perfumes
