r_lescher12: What is the best hotel for your money to stay at in Disneyworld?
We are planning a trip in June of 08. 2 adults, and 3 kids (11, 8, and 1.) We’d love to have a suite where we can have our own room. There are so many hotels to choose from. Should I spend the money on Disney or go cheaper somewhere else? Is it worth the money to stay at a Disney hotel? Thanks!

If you can afford it, since you have a 1 year old, you might be better off staying in an onsite hotel at Disneyworld. They have some pretty good package deals.
Last time we went, we stayed in Kissimmee, and took a shuttle back and forth…MUCH cheaper. But it’s hard to slog a baby around on the shuttle’s schedule. Sometimes you are going to need to get back to your room when YOU want to.
Answer by the_vandalinIf you decide to stay on property, the best deals are usually for the All Star resorts, Music, Movies and Sports. They are also very child friendly. Bene’s for staying on property, easy access to the parks, park passes can be included on your room cards which the kids can also get their own child card (ask about those), and it’s a lot closer to everything.
Personally, I’d say yes, it is worth it to stay at the Resort, especially if this is a rare trip. If you went every year, stay at a hotel off site. If this is a once in a decade/liftime thing, spend the money. It’s worth it!
Answer by 2BeaglesIf you want a suite, then you’re going to pay the price at a Disney hotel. The cheaper Disney hotels are not suites and they are mostly double beds in one room. Since you have kids who are able to do things, have you considered staying at the Nickelodeon Hotel? It’s an all suite hotel and the kids can have a blast in the pool area. They have all the slime and stuff your kids would like. The rooms can get pricy during certain times of the year, but June shouldn’t be too bad. My family stays at one of two hotels in the Disney area. Embassy Suites and Homewood Suites. Both hotels are owned by Hilton and you can get some great prices on the rooms. Both have breakfast in the morning and a manager’s reception in the early evening hours. I’ll add the links to their sites below.Answer by itchianna
I firmly believe that you can not beat Disney, staying on property gives you money saving options. I strongly suggestion you go to www.waltdisneyworld.com and do a comparison of their hotels with the dinning options for your family. If you find a hotel off site, you would have to save enough money to: make up for savings of the dinning plan, pay for travel to the park each day and night. Pay to be picked up at the airport and returned.Answer by SandwichGeneration
There are some very nice places to stay off Disney Property. However, if you plan on spending most of your time at Disney, there are some perks to staying in a Disney Resort; Disney Resort Guest have extended ours in the parks, you can use Disney transportation-which makes getting around Disney easy, it’s also easier to take breaks during the day back at the your room if needed. You might want to check out the “Disney Your Way” packages that include lodging, park tickets, and meals….the packages may make staying on site a better deal.
Have fun!
Answer by Koter botersI would say spend the money! I went last year and my mom and I stayed in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It was wonderful! But if you budget doesn’t allow that theres always the all star suites. If I went back I would probably stay there since when i went last year I had the money to stay in one of the more expensive ones.
I hope you have fun!
last year was my first time and I was 23. I still remember it like I had been there as if I was younger.
