Ridonk: What is the best cat litter to use that takes away the smell?
I am taking care of my friends 2 year old female cat. I am not a cat person so I truly have no idea what I’m doing. Right now I am using his ‘Purina Tidy Cat for Multiple Cats’ cat litter. The cat litter itself actually smells good but this cat takes the WORST dumps! Any better Cat Litter I can use? Also all the cat eats is regular Meow Mix and it’s not eating table scraps meaning its poo naturally just smells that bad.

You can never take away the smell of cat piss no matter how hard you try!!!!

Just try using more litter so the poop have more litter to clump. You should also make sure the litter in the box is clean. And then just scoop every day.

Half box of Arm and Hammer Baking soda mixed with the litter, changed regularly should do the job. If not maybe your kitty has a problem you should consult in your vet. Good luck my kitty loving friend!

I like this stuff called litter purrfect. It works really well. Just keep the thing clean, it will go a long way towards helping with the smell.

You need to make sure thi cat isn’t alergic to the cat litter therefor my cat is hypoalergetic and uses tiny cat litter….you can go to the below site for more help on deciding the best cat litter for ur cat. good luck 🙂

Make sure the litter box has about 3 inches of litter, and line the bottom with a baking soda products and sprinkle some on top. 2x a day, you should scoop out the clumps of litter and the poo and throw it away and replace what you took out with new litter and an extra sprinkle of baking soda product.

You can buy sprays, fresheners and carbon absorbers that eliminate odors if you’re willing to pay for them.

Place the litter box close to a window in a spacious room (not the laundry room or bathroom). The smells aren’t as bad if not confined in a tiny space.

Meow Mix isn’t a very good brand of cat food, so if you’re willing to, buy it something better with natural ingredients and no by-products (no grains if possible). Some would be Wellness and Solid Gold, though they are quite expensive for cat food ($ 12 for a small bag).
