Paul Hxyz: What is it about politics that seems to turn off some people’s brains?
I see all kinds of posts on here that have little or nothing to do with reality, a complete disregard for the facts, arrogance, and a very big lack of knowledge. What is it about politics that seems to make people turn off their minds? Its scary.

The shortest answer I often repeat is to quote Ben Franklin:
“Passion governs, and she never governs wisely”.
Common sense tends to be kicked out of emotionally volatile debates, and some people just so love to use “feelings” over “reason”. Regards, Pat

That’s an easy question. We gave up our need to be involved with politics ages ago.
We’ve always had an inability to fix things in a timely fashion. Our country is filled with road blocks. None of our elected representatives can come to an agreement with anything. When they do, someone with more power than all of them put together decides to veto it and it dies.
Politics have gotten so boring, that we gave up our democracy and said, “You know what, I’m over it. Here, take my money and make my decisions for me.”
As long as we have a [sort of] home, a microwave, and television, we’re happy. You can take away our education, but just don’t take away our microwave dinners.
