SZA: What is an appropriate gift for godparents to give their newborn godson?
My sister just asked my husband and I to be the godparents to her son, due in October. Of course we are thrilled. Is there a particular kind of gift that would be appropriate to mark the arrival of our godson, once he is born? Do we give a gift before he is born?

If you believe in god they make baby crosses that you hang on the wall that usually says their name, or maybe a quilt or a baby chest or just look on google they make tons of things with the baby’s birth date and name.
Hi:
Give the gift whenever you feel like it. If you want to personalize something like a blanket or a mug then that will be nice with some size 2 diapers, wipes, etc. Being a mother of 2.5, I now know that no parent can go without wipes, a bottle of pedialyte, a medicine kit for newborns, bottle cleaners, blankets and onesies. I say make a basket or buy these things and put them into a big bag. Toys are great but the necessities needed during an emergency are more important than a squeeky toy.
good luck.
Answer by julie annBeing Godparents is an honor and to me requires a special gift that will be appreciated forever. A basket of baby stuff is nice but not for a Godparent. We have been Godparents a few times and the gift we give is to start the babe off in a college savings plan. Usually with $ 100, as that’s all we can afford, more if you can. This way friends and relatives can add to the fund as the years go by for birthdays and special occasions. It’s a gift that will be appreciated for a long time where others will be forgotten.

You can try giving something that the mother and the child can used often such as a crib or a stroller as these are one of the important things that babies need everyday. You can also give identical clothings for the mom and the baby.. try visiting for very good gift ideas at a very good price.Answer by MacDoxy
this is great (see link). you can have one made once he is born, or give a gift certificate for one before he is born. 🙂
