It is a criminal background check that finds arrests in one state only, as opposed to a national background check.
PS If you are listed as a multi state offender this will show up and even tell them what other state to search.

a criminal background check is confidential and only done after an arrest and a judge and DA use the information on it to determine bail. there is no way for you to get a copy of itAnswer by Nightrider
Hello April. A state level criminal check is called a BCI ( Bureau of Criminal Information) check. This shows all activities within that state with a link to any notations from other states that may exist.
I will respectfully disagree with the poster above me who states you cannot get your own. You can stop in at your local police or sheriff’s department and request your own BCI check. The average fee is $ 18 to $ 22. They will run your background and give you a written report.
The other check you can get is a Federal level ( called an NCIC check). This can be obtained from your local State Police barracks and costs $ 68. This will show all activity within the USA for your entire life. The state police would fingerprint you for this check and you would also get a written report back.
I hope this helps and you can find it useful
