Kip D: What is a good gift to give to your sister as a wedding gift if you are the one giving her away?
My sister has asked me to give her away at her wedding since my dad passed a few years ago. Is there a special gift that a dad gives his daughter on that day (other than paying for the wedding – can’t really do that) and would be appropriate for her stand-in brother to give? If not are there any suggestions for a sweet and meaningful gift?

I would give her something sentimental because she chose you to give her away.
Ideas:
A locket with your dad’s picture in it.
A string of pearls that she can wear on her special day.
An engraved picture frame of her (and your dad) when she was younger
It’s nice of you to be wondering about this, but no – there’s no special gift associated with the fact that you’re giving her away. It’s hard for random strangers to give suggestions, since it all depends on what she likes. Could you ask your mom or a sister about it? If not, think of things she’d truly love. If her favorite group is coming to a town near you, get tickets for that. You do kind of need to include her fiance in the gift, since it’s for both of them, but you could certainly get her something separate if you want.Answer by It’s me!
That is so sweet of you! My older brother gave me away in 2006 because my father died in 2002. He looked so cute! He rented a tux and tried the best to make my day special. He and his wife gave me and my husband a lovely card and money. I really didn’t even care if he gave me any gift at all. Walking me down the isle and giving me away was so thoughtful and loving of him. ANYTHING you give your sister would be perfectly fine.Answer by lady
My husband gave our daughter a pearl necklace and earrings to wear on her wedding day. Our daughter loves them and whenever she wears them she is reminded of her wedding day and her “daddy’s ” gift to her. I think a special piece of jewelry…something that she will have forever, would be a wonderful gift from you…whether it be pearls or her favorite stone (sapphire, ruby. etc).

A locket,
A scrapbook,
A special sentimental reminder of your childhood.
A Dad normally buys something like a dining room table or sofa etc but not very sentimental.

A lovely bracelet that she can enjoy all year or an engraved lighter with the wedding date and their names on (if she smokes)
As for a gift for the two of them your dad would have given them something they needed like dishes, luggage, etc.

Gifts are not all there is you know. You could make a really nice speech of how lucky you are to have her as your sister and how good the couple look , say you appreciate her so much there isn’t anything in the world that could symbolise your love.
But if you can’t resist you could always get her something she always wanted. But if I was her my ideal gift would be a picture of her and her dad in a happy moment to show that he is with her.
Hope my answer helps, and all the very best to sister.
1. A stone-studded locket that should be the first letter of her name–artisticlly made.
2.Air tickets for their honeymoon ,if thats within your budget.
