Sea Surfer: What is a good first tennis racket for someone who has never touched a racket before?
Like the question asked: I am looking for a tennis racket but I have never touched one before. So I am a complete idiot when it comes to this. And I need one before March 8, 2009, or I can’t try out for the freshmen tennis team.

It’s already past March 8th.
i wouldnt go any further than a cheap 20-30 dollar Wilson or Prince racket until you figure out how good of a feel you hve for rackets, strings, grips, etc… a good 80-200 dollar racket wont change your game drastically as it takes practice and a feel for things… so, for at least a year id play with a cheaper racketAnswer by ‘Mocha!=]*
first year i suggest you get a racquet from walmartAnswer by Colin T
Just go pick up a Wilson 25-35 dollar racket at a sporting good store or walmart. It’s foolish to spend more than that on a racket before you’ve developed your game a little bit.
DONT LET ANYONE convince you to buy an expensive racket when you’re learning. Until you find out the kind of game you’re going to play it’s a COMPLETE waste of money.
Answer by SmarticalJust get a cheap Wilson or Prince racket until you decide your going to stick to the game.
