Soccerfan345: What is a good decently priced apartment in downtown Austin?
I will be a graduate student at UT and I am looking for either a fully furnished one bedroom apartment or a 2 bedroom apartment to share with someone. Does anyone know a good, decently-priced apartment (up to $ 800) in Downtown Austin?

Congratulations! And good choice! Any reason you want to live downtown? That’ll probably be the most expensive place to live. I would suggest living north of campus where you an find a decent place for about $ 1200 for a 2 bedroom on the low end and anywhere upto $ 2000. If you don’t mind the commute (free shuttles) you can go cheap ($ 300 per person) and poor neighborhood over by riverside (south east from campus, east of I-35) or moderately priced ($ 500 per person) over in Far west (North west of campus). Both of these require taking the shuttles or city busy and would most likely need a car to get to campus on weekends (the shuttles aren’t as frequent). When I wasn’t living on campus I lived literally 5 minutes away for about $ 500 with utilities. Of course the place was really small. I would only recommend downtown if you want high class living close to campus, which really isn’t on a grad student’s budget….hope that helps! Oh and most of these places won’t be furnished unless you look in West Campus (but I would avoid this if you don’t like loud places cause it’s where the frat houses are)
Hook ’em!
