Kayonna A: What happens when your car makes a clicking sound when trying to start the car?
Ok my car has been running fine all week and just last night when I tried to start it, it wouldn’t and the first time this happenedy boyfriend told me it was the battery so when I got a jump, the car came on. Now when we jumped it last night, it didn’t come on but kept making like this one clicking noise. What does this mean? I just got this car and it hasn’t even been a month old and already it’s giving me problems 🙁

Get your starter checked. That’s the problem for sure.
Sounds like your battery has an internal short. This will quickly drain your battery and make it difficult to jump start. Take your battery to an auto parts store for free testing to confirm but this is the highest probability.Answer by Babygurl

You may need a new battery because your old one wont hold a charge. or your alternator may be bad and not charging properly. Or your starter may have a bad connection or internal problem.Answer by tenba10
Battery is a good bet. If you can try to swap it out for a good one to see if the problem goes away. You could also have corrosion in your battery cables, check them for a greenish residue. Next to check is your charging system (alternator & wiring associated with it) , your battery may be fine but not getting charged enough to start the car.
You can take your battery and / or alt to an auto parts store and they can check them, usually for free.Answer by bandit_60
sounds like you need a new battery or the battery terminals need to be cleaned up. it also could be the starter solenoid.
