Jachin: What happens if i scam someone on an Online game for real money to my paypal account?
My situation is that my friend wants to use my paypal account to scam somebody on an online game. He wants to pretend to give another person that he doesnt know a really rare item that is worth about $ 200 dollars. That person is going to send the money to my paypal, and my friend is basically scamming him and not giving him that rare item. Can i get in trouble for this kind of scam? If anyone can let me know it would be very nice. Thank you

Yes. And it will ALL be on you, since it’s YOUR account. Seriously…how can you be this stupid? Stealing is wrong.
Answer by BeccaYou will, most likely, be the one to get in trouble, since it’s your paypal account. Tell your friend if he wants to do that sort of thing to get his own paypal account.Answer by joeythehulk

really? what on earth do you think will happen? it’s pretty easy to report someone for that, and since it’s real money, you can get in pretty big trouble (cops and all that). since you fail to stop your friend from doing so, you’ll also get into trouble for it.
be sure to tell your friend that he’s probably one of the biggest idiots on earth.
Answer by serendipity_sirenActually, your friend is screwing you. Once the “buyer” doesn’t get his game he will file a complaint to Paypal and you will be responsible for the 200.00. Great friend, a real keeper!Answer by AC
Yes it is a federal offense. You would be arrested. If they found out it was you.Answer by trainwreck
If you get reported yes it is illegal. Will you get caught that depends on the determination of the buyer. Since you are making the deal by using your account you are liable.Answer by Martin

Well, first of all, this person IS NOT YOUR FRIEND.
Clearly, they don’t want to get in trouble, and they KNOW that this is illegal activity. Who doesn’t? This person obviously knows that they’ll get into BIG trouble, and so they’re framing you for the crime, basically, by using your PayPal account.
This person isn’t your friend, is trying to involve you in crime, frame you, scam a person out of money, basically being a terrible person, and breaking the law and basic morals. You need to tell your friend that it’s wrong and you will not do it.
Answer by RubixYes, you’re breaking the law.
The person who gets scammed will talk to the creators of the online game who will track your friend’s account.
Also, as he will have your paypal details he can contact paypal who have all your home address and bank details so they’ll know exactly who and where you are and the scammed person will press charges so quickly you won’t have time to blink.
Don’t do it.
Answer by RaenReally be the responsible person and tell your friend no. Because there is always a chance to get caught in doing something wrong. And do you really want to be at the butt end of the case if it does? Because he risks nothing by using your account, but if it turns out that there is some trouble, you’re the one to get blamed for it. Tell him to make a paypal of his own if he really wants to scam this person. At least then he’ll realize the importance of putting his own neck on the line for something.Answer by Jesse
Uhhhh. Yeah you can get in trouble. He is using YOUR paypal account. That makes you an assistant. You can get arrested. Tell your friend to use his own account for his little scheme.Answer by Justin
He will Probably Charge-Back The Money After He Knows You Won’t Give Him The Item, Or He Might Be Pissed Enough To Call The Police Or Get Someone To Get Your Ip and Do Things To Screw With You, Or Call The IRS Or Whatever It’s Called I Forget, But Really It Isn’t Worth The Risk, Trust Me.Answer by Sue
