a line a rock and thats it
The ball used to be an inflated pig’s bladder. This was in the English private schools, where the sport was developed. The bladder was then put in a leather casing, and was played with like that.Answer by Andrew
Instead of a ball, they used to use midgets. Rucks were a lot more interesting back then as the midget would try to escape when released on the ground. Backrowers had to be fast to get to the breakdown before the midget escaped.Answer by swim tom
they didnt have all the shoulder pads they wear now or the gum shields, or fancy balls with grip on them.
they use to use an inflated pigs blader as ryan said as a ball.
the same usual sports shorts, and usual rugby shirt (checked/stripes), and the scrumcaps use to be made of leather, but there wasnt much padding to them, mainly just to protect your ears and head from scratches and pulls.
as for the rugby boots, they were much like the ones we use today, exept no brands, just leather shoes with studs.
