A rabbit represents new life in spring. It’s a nice little story for us to tell our kids and give them candy. Why must you take things to the highest degree of seriousness?Answer by Lauren
By the way, Jesus didn’t die on Easter; he was resurrected on it. So, i guess it represents life because bunnies populate fast? lol thats what i heard XDAnswer by PragueGuy
Probably has something to do with fertility as the original pagan easter holiday was about spring fertility.Answer by Permanand
About the same thing Santa Claus has to do with the religious meaning of Christmas – nothin’!
Springtime, renewal, eggs, baby bunnies, new beginnings, new life, life conquering death, any excuse to be outdoors in warm sunshine after a long cold winter, resurrection, all those things share some common meaning. That’s as close as I can come to justifying the bunny/Easter connection. Well, that and marketing of chocolate…
Answer by MichaelThe Pope was originally intended to be a position held by a Rabbit. Jesus knew that all humans had too much sin in them to effectively lead, so he chose an innocent animal to lead them. It is a little known fact that the original Pope, the apostle Peter, was actually a bunny rabbit (Peter Rabbit). Want more proof? Just look at the Pope’s hat. It looks silly on a human because it is intended to cover a rabbits ears. However the modern catholic church decided that a rabbit leader would be proposterous and so appointed a human Pope. The tradition though, continues of praising and celebrating a species more innocent than our own. I hope this helps you.Answer by 11 v j v m 11
I have attended our sunrise service(like a mass) and the preacher said that Easter is the season of celebration and it is also the season were ancient people worship the god spring and fertility. The death of Christ happened on that season so the Easter time has become related to Jesus. The BUNNY represents FERTILITY. and the EASTER EGGS represents SPRING.

Rabbits are a common symbol of fertility, just like eggs. Easter was originally a pagan celebration named after the goddess Eostre. It was a celebration of the earth ‘re-awakening’ after winter, as plants and crops began to grow again, and livestock began mating as well. Rabbits and eggs went hand-in-hand with this idea of fertility.
The christan version of Easter, celebrating the Resurrection of Christ came much later. As the church was trying to convert pagans, it did so by combining many of it’s celebration with holidays the pagan’s already had. Easter is one such example
