Quitah: What does it mean if a house needs finishing on the inside?
I’m looking into buying a house, and I’m a single female, so of course I don’t know much about plumbing and electrical finishing. The house I am setting an appointment to see is fabulous on the outside but the ad says that the inside needs finishing and that the flooring, electric and plumbing are all there to be installed. Does this basically mean the house is a big empty shell with no paint on the walls, nothing installed (obviously) and so on. Also if the house needs finishing does this mean there is no toilet or shower in the bathrooms?

It means that the house is without any thing including sheet rock. this is a handyman’s dream. You must do the wireing before you put in the sheet rock trim etc. Alot of work, but a positive since you will be able to select all the fixtures, including the light switches.
Yes it means that, means that a contractor did not finish for some reason. If they have the plans on it. The plans will have what you need for each room. Also if this is not finished your going to have to hire some to finish it and get permits for all to be inspected electrical, plumbing and flooring .All house’s being built will need the ok from the city so be careful.
