dfdfereddfdf f: What actions can i take on a abandoned house?
I have lived in my house for 14 years i have had the same neighbors for that length of time, recently my neighbors moved, no for sale sign now warning just one day left. me other neighbors think they were doing illegal things there, and the police or some one threaten them, so they left. now, it an empty house. recently people have been breaking into the house. i come home for work the other day and found the screen door completely gone and the front door wide open. i called the police to come check it out, they never did. i believe someone is coming into that house ever so often to look for drugs etc.
my question is who do i contact to get this house boarded up, or get something done with it.
can i buy it? i rather not but i will if i have to i dont want my good neighborhood ruined by this house.
i would like the government to come and do something with it fast!

Were your neighbors the owners of the house or renters? If you don’t know the tax office should be able to tell you who actually owns it. If someone else owns it you could try letting them know what’s going on. Lots of ifs sorry I couldn’t be more help.
That’s the ticket…..let the government do it.
Go to the county or town office responsible for Real Estate.
Find out if the property taxes have been paid on the property.
If not, inquire whether the property might be coming up for tax sale. When it does, Buy it, renovate it, and re-sell it. A renovated property next door will enhance the value of your property.
Or, encourage someone else with the resources to do this. You benefit, either way. Good luck
Answer by anonomamado a search on your County Tax Appraisal District.
Example, Dallas County Appraisal District in the search.
I know for me it allows me to do a property search and see who owns what, what the tax appraisal of the house is, and what reported improvements have been done.

Call your local government. Alderman or council member, someone like that. It is a long slow process so get things going now. It is the local government’s responsibility to maintain a healthy neighborhood. Demand something be done. A friend of mine in a similar situation, and his neighbors, told the city they would burn it down. The city took care of the problem after that. Good luck.
