Jasmin: What Do You Think About Celebrities Releasing Books?
Whether they’re autobiographies or just random fiction/nonfiction stories, what do you think? I think it’s okay as long as it’s a celebrity that people will be interested in, especially if it’s an autobiography. I love reading, but i mostly read fiction, but i just wanted to know how people feel about this. It’s not like we can stop them, but sometimes celebrities know that their book will sell, so they release it just to get money, not to share their story with their fans. How do you feel about this?

i think its just another way to get money and to get attention. it gets really annoying when you look for books and then you have all this crap from a bunch of celebrities that just want attention. I read one once, i forget a lot of it, but i fell asleep reading it and i didn’t want to finish it because it was so bad.
I don’t know, it depends. I don’t really read celebrities’ books because if it’s about their life, it’s usually not true. (Although i will be getting Janet’s book when it comes out, it’s not an autobiography haha)Answer by Krispy Cakey
Some “autobiographies” are not official and are made by others solely for money and have lies in them to help sell the book! But I would hope when a person becomes really famous they would only really be telling their story for the fans cause they sure don’t need the money!Answer by Esteban

I think it’s fine. People want to inspiration. Truth is, I was really happy when I found out that Justin Bieber was releasing a book. Because I look up to him and his book kinda showed me how hard he worked to become this famous. It’s really inspiring. And I’m sure that he wanted to share his book with his fans. Because it’s so personal and he tells you so much about his life before. Yeah, I know… everyone hates him. I don’t care though… and I know that I’m gonna get like, 10 thumbs downs… but whatever.
Screw the haters who have nothing better to do then to pick on people who actually have the guts to try something different. – Justin Bieber

Answer by Hσʟʟy!3 main reasons:
1. Money
2. Publicity
3. For a lost celebrity to worm their way back into the spotlight.
Sometimes, big time celebrtites release books and generally most people would be interested in reading it. But either way, it is a way for them to gain more publicity amongst the public, even to create more fans that didn’t know this information about them before.
For the small time celebrities, that have…”lost their shine”, they always seem to release books in order to get back into the spotlight. Most of the time, in this case, they don’t even write the books themselves, they have other people do it and they still gain the money from it and have the title of an “author” put besides their name along with their main occupation.
All reasons for releasing a book, whether it be setting the record straight, telling them about thier lives etc, it all ties down to money and further gain of publicity.
