Confucianism is not really a religion… I haven’t studied it much, but it’s basically a philosophy that is based on a person’s “place”. For example, how you should respect parents, elders, etc… Many argue that Confucian beliefs are at the center of Buddhist belief in the East and greatly influenced how Buddhism was practiced there.
Buddhism is (arguably) a religion, though some consider it more of an abstract philosophy… but, back in the day it was definitely a religion. Basically, life is filled with desire, which brings pain, so you want to stop the cycle of birth/re-birth (samsara) and either transcend to some kind of ‘nirvana’ or exit existence all together. There was this guy who did it during our time of existence and we all want to be just like him. There are a bout a billion forms of this religion and it gets super, duper complicated (especially in Japan).
Both of these systems are super complicated, so I’d just wiki them if was you in order to get the simplest answer.
