dancerchica08: What dance classes should I take in the fall?
I am looking to be a dancer when I grow up. This year, I have been taking 2 ballet classes, 1 modern/jazz, 1 jazz/funk, and 1 street class, as well as my dance company. My family is moving right down the street from a dance studio (Radomile Academy of Dance) so I can take a bunch of classes. I can take probably a maximum of about 12 classes. What classes should I take?
PS: I really don’t want to do tap.

Take as much ballet as you can. Ballet is the base of nearly all other dances and having a lot of experience in ballet can help you find a job in the dance world more easier. Then, check out all the other classes offered at your studio and pick the ones that seem the most fun to do.
Well, if your studio that you are going to has modern dancing, that is REALLY fun! I personally love modern dancing. I also love jazz and lyrical. But, it’s totally up to you what dances you should take. Do whatever you are good at!Answer by Marla
Continue with the classes you’re taking now, at your the new studio. If they’re beginner classes take intermediate, if they’re intermediate… you get the picture. If you feel there was an area, however, that you don’t feel as strong as in, it’s totally acceptable to re-take say beginning ballet.
Then try stepping outside the box a bit. A baton or gymnastics class is a great way to add variety and will help you grow into a well-rounded dancer. Have fun, I’m excited for you, dancing is a wonderful art and I love it!Answer by somegirl
I agree that you should continue with the current classes you’re taking (2 ballet, 1 modern jazz, 1 jazz funk, and 1 street). I think if they have it, you should add lyrical or contemporary and gymnastics or a tumbling class. Also a jumps and turns class. These extra bits will help take you to higher levels!Answer by sammyy
Thats awesome. I took ten this year and it was a blast! If you want to be a professional dancer you have to be diverse, so I would recommend taking tap. (At my studio tap is required for company dancers because when we go to conventions there is always tap there!)You have different types of classes than me, but I would take as many ballets as possible and some lyrical classes.Answer by Dancer
