What color shoes to wear with brown business suit?

d&g: What color shoes to wear with brown business suit?
I am a 22 year old starting my career in the business world next week. I have a brown business suit (among others) and I was just wondering what the best color shoes would be to wear with it? If you could provide links to shoes that would be great/ really helpful. I usually spend about $ 75-120 on dressy shoes. High heels only- heels must be at least 3 in high. Thanks!

In the past it has been that you can only wear brown shoes with a brown suit. This year – – – don’t follow that. You can wear a neutral color, or even a color to make your shoes the focal point.

Mustard
Beige
greens of any kind
teal
red
magenta

I would probably stay away from black and navy though.

Some of the colors may be a little bright for your office setting, depending on the dress code. However, if you do it correctly, you cannot go wrong with a simple button-down, the suit, and the bright shoes.

You didn’t say what shade of brown, there are so many! Generally speaking I’d go with a bronze or burgundy heel for a darker brown suit, and maybe a copper or camel shade for a lighter brown. Good luck in your new career! 🙂
