This sounds like a homework assignment to me.
Just pick a career and research it…. Could be doctor, clergy, fireman, senator, etc, etc.

Answer by Tony RBWhat career or profession you believe is important in society?
Plumbing.
It has been said :
A society that values philosophy over plumbing will have neither good plumbing nor good philosophy.
Something every plumber learns first :
Toilet water must run downhill (all drains must go downslope).
Water under pressure can run uphill.
[ This means all wastewater drains must be designed so there is never enough pressure to force toilet water to run uphill ]
Now for your other questions :
What is the career like?
You work with human waste – which is hazardous. Every state has laws and regulations that describe and dictate how the work is to be done and who is qualified to do the work.
Why is the career important to society?
Before we had modern plumbing, human waste was a cause of a lot of disease. Some people in the world still live with “open sewers” in their streets. Human waste contaminates the water supply, and thus can poison anyone who drinks the water. Cholera is transmitted by human waste and many centuries ago could kill most of the people who lived in a city. It still could but we have ways of diagnosing the disease, treating the disease, and delivering clean water for people to drink and cook with to avoid getting sick.
But it’s cheaper to have good plumbing.
How does it influence society?
Have you ever used a “portable toilet” ? Or an outhouse ? Or just squatted in the woods ?
Do you want to live with the smell coming from a “chamber pot” in the house ?
Life is much cleaner with indoor plumbing and a reliable supply of clean water.
I have mentioned “a reliable supply of clean water”
People who live in rural areas are dependent on well water. If that water is contaminated by chemicals or wastewater from other areas getting into the aquifers, those people have a problem.
Some people who live in rural areas have rainwater gathering systems. But when there is a drought, there is no water. Again, they have a problem.
City people are absolutely dependent on the city or a contracted business to supply them with clean water and to remove the wastewater.
But that’s a topic for another career question.
=====
The Republican Party has Rush Limbaugh for philosophy and Joe the Plumber for plumbing.
Guess which one is richer.
