What book written in Italian is good for a beginner in the language?

I am learning Italian, and I want to start reading books to improve my language development skills. I do not want the book to use huge words yet, so I am looking for something simple.

I am always looking for Children’s books in Italian since they use more simple language. There are also books on Amazon.com you can buy that are dual language books. I love these because one side of the page is in Italian and the other is in English! The one I have is called Italian Stories, a Dual-Language Book. By Robert A. Hall, Jr.
