grrrrrwolf: What are your best reasons to tax religion?
Being tax exempt is essentially government (tax-payers) financing religion; these groups get the same quality of security and infrastructure as tax-payers. Sounds like support for religion to me.
What about the abandoned churches that the government cannot confiscate, because no tax is overdue, that turn into havens for drugs? Ironic, but not if you truly understand the bloodsucking nature of religion on society.
Super(duper)natural leaders should be a able contribute to the society they intend to control.
Actually we (the government) are getting stuck twice. Until we add a sales tax on people buying their particular brand of religion, I won’t be happy.

Put religion out of business by taxing a non-profit organization, and the state will have to provide everything that churches now provide, especially for the poor, which will cost the state millions annually – far more than they could ever collect in taxes.Answer by jimmy_cathey_1030
Isn’t it amazing how self-pitying and self-aggrandizing the religious freaks in this country are? It’s not enough that they can make straight-faced professions of “faith” at election times and impose their language on everything from the Pledge of Allegiance to the currency. It’s not enough that they can claim tax exemption and even subsidy for anything “faith-based.” It’s that when they are even slightly criticized for their absurd opinions, they can squeal as if being martyred and act as if they are truly being persecuted.Answer by Joseph
Christians have decided to become a political party. Tax them like all political parties.Answer by Miguel
The clergy enjoy the same paved roads, police service, and public education as everyone else who pays tax.
It has also been grossly misused as a tax loophole for money scams.
Answer by Lord ButtersIf they take tax-sponsored stuff (they do) without paying taxes, then they’re forcing everyone to pay for it, which is a flagrant violation of freedom of religion. And freedom in general honestly.
Now if they were consuming no tax-supported resources then we could talk, but since they use roads and all that other stuff they’re freeloading.
I HATE freeloaders.
Answer by BfractI’d rather outlaw religion altogether, but if that doesn’t work there is no reason religious organizations should continue to get a free ride just because they prop themselves up with some imaginary deity.Answer by Peabody
To equate a tax exemption with a tax subsidy is simply liberal madness. Sounds very much like the way Hitler looted the synagogues before he started murdering the Jews. Can’t your buddies in big government restrain their craven kleptomania?
As far as contributing to society, are you entirely ignorant of the fact that it’s the churches who feed the poor, house the homeless, respond the disaster victims, rehabilitate the addict and the criminal? Of course you aren’t. You just choose to be mendacious. I know the type.
