I have two tickets to an event next week and I won’t be able to go, so I want to sell my tickets. I have heard that there are some legal issues with re-selling tickets, and I definitely don’t want to break any laws. Can I just list my tickets on ebay or craigslist? If I put them on ebay and they get bid up above face value, can I be penalized for scalping tickets?

No, Thats what Stubhub.com is for. People buy a bunch of tickets and sell them above face value, somehow its legal to do online but not in person

it depends on the state you are in. check your state’s scalping laws. many exclude the sale of tickets on event grounds and most say something to the effect that you cannot sell it for more than a certain amount of the face value
