PreMedicate: What are the criminogenic or crime-producing risk factors that cause offenders to offend?
Hi I just want more information in regards to the crime cycle.
I have an interview tomorrow that is in regards to a job that works with male federal and other offenders serving probation.

Also, as I am a psychology major in my second year, they will be asking me ‘how is psychology linked to the justice system?’

Risk factors don’t cause offenders to offend. The thought of ‘getting over’ on someone or something; getting something for nothing through illegal means; etc, etc. That’s the causes. You’re going to work with ex-prisoners & probationers. You’ll learn their psychology soon enough. They’re experts at ‘getting over’.
