C. Aponte: How should we change our Criminal Justice system to reduce the number of inmates in prison?
Crime is just going up. Sending people to jail doesn’t seem to be “fixing” anyone. What can we do to make a system that won’t discriminate by your color or the size of your wallet? How can we treat people instead of isolating them from the general population and putting them into a cycle of criminal activity?

We could try to change the criminals thinking, you know, Actually teach them a lesson. most of them don’t want to learn and even more people don’t want waste their time trying to teach them. But with some effort we could convince them to stop because the scare thing and prison isn’t really working anymore.Answer by nighthawkx11

Answer by sophistAnalyze the reason most of them are there and make it legal. In the criminal justice system of today, the greatest contributor to crime is the law. Many , who are in prison, are there for what is essentially victimless crimes in that the only people that are hurt is themselves. (drugs mostly). Give them a support system and they won’t bother anybody. After all everybody is entitled to go to hell in their own way.Answer by bookstoredude

Simple: enforce all the laws equally for each and every individual. Everyone would be treated the same, whether that person is a cop, a governor, the President, whomever.Answer by Christopher B
More job training and actually making the prisoners work instead of letting them sit in their cells all day and thus they become dependant on the state. Have them be productive and the recidicism rate will drop I think.
