Ryan James: What are the chances of US intervention in Libya?
Do you think that the US will interfere in the political unrest in Libya? Under what circumstances? If not the US, than what country??
This is just out of my curiosity to hear your opinions.
Thanks!

Zero.
We shouldn’t let Ghadafi become another Hussein. And we don’t want another Darfur situation do we?
If Libya is severely destabilized from a long-term war, it DOES give a chance for terrorist groups to move in and use it as a base.
We MUST act, and remove Ghadafi as soon as possible. It’s clear the people don’t want him.

Answer by Lady BarstowVery little chance of US intervention. If Gadhafi is overthrown, the UN might be invited in for humanitarian aid and assistance, but I doubt that, too.Answer by Craig C
Gadaffi needs to be removed but only when all foriegn nationals are out of harms way. I think as the crisis escalates, if all other measures fail military intervention will be considered.Answer by Shary
No militarily of course.

How can I say this without being biased….
Well it’s no secret that Obama has expanded the global war on terror on the clandestine level, so any intervention, if any, will be passive in the eyes of the world. Any actions from the Obama admin. to this magnitude will most likely not make the headlines, unless it is leaked.
Britain, Italy, Greece, and other EU nations have been keeping a close eye on the situation, as they hold various assets in Libya (UK has several oil rigs east of Tripoli).
A Libyan state-ran oil giant owns 25% of Circle Oil, with assets in Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia and Nambia, which have been frozen due to pressure from the US gov’t.
Despite claims of genocide on Libyan citizens, other nations such as Greece still continue to talk with he Libyan gov’t for trade agreements and investment.
Basically, to sort this mess out, the US is doing everything in their power to remove Khadafi, but their are other nations that are still interested in doing business with Libya, a surprisingly rapid growing economy. The US is taking great joy to see their workers have gone on strike.
Answer by Some Snow Would Be NiceI’m from Libya, and today is the 12th day of the Libyan revolt. and the US hasn’t intervened yet or any other country cause my people are still dying in Tripoli, the US didn’t intervene earlier because they thought that Gaddafi would still rule Libya even though millions of us don’t want him and that he’ll have everything in control. They didn’t wanna say anything till they were absolutely sure that Gaddafi is NOT gonna rule Libya because he lost control of his country and people. In my opinion, and I’m sure most Libyans think so too (What i hear from relatives/friends/Libyans on the news) is that we don’t want an intervention from the US, we have made everything possible ourselves, freed Benghazi, Darna, Beetha, all the other cities here. and now we are cleaning up our mess and making our city a better place to live. I don’t mean to disrespect, I am only speaking my mind, I think all America cares about is the Gas and Petrol production here and whats gonna happen to it than our own people dying, starving and suffering.Answer by George
Hillary Clinton offered to help get rid of Qaddafi, lets see if the Libyan rebels take up her offer.
