What are the benefits of split sole ballet shoes?

Morgan Bubbles: What are the benefits of split sole ballet shoes?
I need new ballet shoes. My old ones were full sole leathers. I’m considering getting split sole leathers so I was wondering, what are the benefits of having them? Do they make your feet look good? Are they more comfortable? Anything?

Easier to point in and make your arch look better. However, it doesn’t help your arch develop like a full sole leather shoe would.

In my opinion the split sole are more comfortable. It is also easier to point your toe.

Coming from someone who has had both…
1) comfort
2) easier to point feet
3) look better when you point your feet

HOWEVER…
full soles make you work your feet harder and they will both strengthen and improve your feet

A split sole helps you arch your feet more when dancing. This may not happen to you, but full sole slippers may slip off easier.
